Energy Strategy

Energy Strategy oversees FS Group’s energy management in an integrated manner, by defining and implementing short, medium and long-term implementation of the energy strategy. The Structure supports the Group’s business decisions, making sure the financial, sustainability and safe supply objectives are aligned.

Its core business is managing FS Group’s energy portfolio, by coordinating the procurement, demand forecasting, risk management and cost optimisation activities. Energy Strategy operates directly in the energy markets to ensure a secure, sustainable and competitive energy supply, reduce the exposure to price volatility and stabilise the cost over time.

The structure also analyses the energy markets, performs benchmarking and monitoring of the regulatory framework, and oversees the incentive schemes, providing strategic support for FS Group’s industrial decisions and investments.

Once fully operational, Energy Strategy plans to manage approximately 7 TWh/year of energy consumption sourced from the market, besides structuring and signing of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the supply of electricity from renewable sources.

PPAs are a cornerstone of FS Group’s energy strategy, as they help reduce cost volatility, support the development of dedicated renewable energy facilities, and ensure long-term stability and predictability, thereby strengthening the path towards energy transition and decarbonisation.
